Delhi Government Reshuffles Staff at Health Procurement Agency

New Delhi: The Delhi government has made significant changes by transferring over 40 staff members from the Central Procurement Agency (CPA). This move is part of an effort to enhance efficiency and transparency in the health sector, as stated by officials.

The CPA operates under the Department of Health and Family Welfare and is responsible for procuring and supplying medicines, medical equipment, and other vital healthcare materials for government-run health facilities in Delhi.

In light of recent reports of irregularities within the department, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that the restructuring is aimed at making health services stronger, more transparent, and accountable. She noted that any form of negligence or indiscipline would not be accepted.

As part of this restructuring, 10 doctors, including Dr. Vinod Kumar Ranga, the Head of Office, have been reassigned. Additionally, 19 paramedical staff members, such as pharmacists and lab technicians, have also been relocated. The government has also transferred 10 administrative staff members to improve overall efficiency.

Moreover, 20 employees have been moved to bolster paramedical services, and 12 medical officers from various hospitals have been added to the CPA. These include positions like Senior Medical Officer and Chief Medical Officer.

The government reviewed the status of all personnel within the agency, identifying those drawing salaries while working in different locations, to better utilize resources. Extra responsibilities have also been given to staff managing various units, including project management, purchasing, and public grievance handling.

Chief Minister Gupta reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the procurement and supply systems for medical supplies and ensuring timely healthcare access for residents of Delhi.
