US President Trump Reports Iranian Interest in Peace Deal

WASHINGTON: On Monday, President Donald Trump announced that he received communication from Iranian representatives who are eager to negotiate a peace agreement. This comes after recent discussions in Pakistan concluded over the weekend without reaching a consensus.

Speaking to reporters outside the Oval Office, Trump shared, “I can tell you that we’ve been called by the other side. They’d like to make a deal. Very badly, very badly.” He did not specify which officials had reached out.

In related news, the latest round of US-Iran talks also ended without a deal.
