Cairo: Israeli Airstrike Claims Four Lives in Gaza
A recent Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians, according to local health officials. The attack occurred on Jaffa Street, close to the Darraj neighborhood in Gaza City, and has left several others injured.
As of now, the Israeli military has not made any comments regarding this incident. Tensions remain high, as both Palestinian group Hamas and Israeli officials are blaming each other for breaching the ceasefire established last October, which had brought an end to two years of intense conflict.
Reports from the Gaza health ministry indicate that since the ceasefire began, Israeli fire has led to the deaths of at least 700 people.
Recently, a Hamas delegation met with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in Cairo to discuss a disarmament proposal presented to them last month. According to sources, Hamas has stated that they are unwilling to discuss disarmament unless there are solid guarantees that Israel will completely withdraw from Gaza, as outlined in a plan proposed by former US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace.”
Hamas’s disarmament has become a significant hurdle in negotiations aimed at implementing Trump’s plan for the region and maintaining the ceasefire. Notably, Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, resulted in approximately 1,200 Israeli casualties, as reported by Israeli authorities.
In related news, the US successfully rescued an airman, amid ongoing pressures from Trump and Israel on Iran, as a deadline approaches. Meanwhile, the prolonged conflict has resulted in more than 72,000 Palestinian deaths, most of whom were civilians, according to health officials in Gaza. This ongoing violence has led to widespread famine, destruction of infrastructure, and significant displacement of the local population.
