Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla Release Postponed
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Bhooth Bangla is now set to release on April 17 instead of the initially planned April 10. This change has sparked discussions in the film industry, with many wondering why the delay occurred. Sources indicate that the shift is linked to the impressive performance of Dhurandhar 2 at the box office.
According to insiders, Deepak Sharma, the distribution head of Jio Studios, instructed multiplexes to ensure that Dhurandhar 2 maintains a significant number of shows during the week of Bhooth Bangla’s release. He reportedly requested a guarantee of 10,000 shows for Dhurandhar 2 in its fourth week, forcing exhibitors to comply due to the film’s success.
Despite pushing hard for a release on April 10, the Bhooth Bangla team ultimately decided to avoid controversy by moving the date back a week. They argued that Dhurandhar 2 would consistently perform well even with their release, aiming for a chance similar to other mid-sized projects Akshay Kumar has worked on.
Even single-screen theaters received similar instructions, which added to the pressure on Bhooth Bangla’s producers. Faced with this situation, the team chose to postpone their film rather than compete head-to-head.
An official announcement regarding the new release date is expected soon. Fans are eagerly awaiting the latest updates on this comedy film directed by Priyadarshan.
