Sara Arjun Reunites with McDonald’s as Brand Ambassador
In an exciting new development, McDonald’s India – North and East has named actor Sara Arjun as its latest Brand Ambassador. This marks a heartwarming return for the young star, who first charmed audiences in a memorable McDonald’s advertisement during her childhood.
Years later, Sara steps back into the spotlight with the brand, celebrating the joy of sharing meals—something many customers fondly remember from their own experiences with McDonald’s. As a long-time admirer of the fast-food chain, this new role is particularly special for her.
The partnership comes alive with a fresh television commercial showcasing the new Buddy Meal, tailored for friends who enjoy sharing delicious food and wonderful moments together. Priced at an affordable ₹119, the Buddy Meal features two burger options—the classic McAloo Tikki or the Veg Surprise, accompanied by two Coca-Cola drinks and a medium fries. This meal is perfect for two and includes cherished favorites that many have grown to love.
The new ad playfully revisits the original “girlfriend-boyfriend” dialogue from the past, adding a humorous touch. In the advert, Sara humorously mentions how relationships nowadays can be “too demanding,” with her buddy expecting extravagant gestures. Yet, when all he wants is a McAloo Tikki, it highlights a simple truth: sometimes, happiness comes from the little things.
The commercial concludes with the catchy phrase: “Shukar hai McDonald’s Buddy Meal for 2 hai… starts at just ₹119.” The playful exchange between the couple emphasizes the campaign’s theme of sharing good food and meaningful moments, encapsulated in the message “Khao Meal, Baat Ke,” celebrating friendship, simplicity, and value.
Anant Agarwal, Vice Chairman of MMG Group and CPRL, shared his thoughts on this collaboration. He stated, “At McDonald’s India – North and East, we focus on creating moments that unite people. Sara’s return serves as a heartwarming reminder of the emotional connections many customers have with our brand. With the Buddy Meal, we’re celebrating friendship and the joy of sharing a meal together.”
Sara Arjun expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “McDonald’s has always held a special place in my heart. Coming back for this campaign feels nostalgic. The Buddy Meal embodies the joy of sharing food and laughter with friends, and I’m thrilled to be part of this story.”
The return of a beloved face from the past allows McDonald’s India to tap into the cherished memories of many customers while inviting a new generation to create their own experiences at the fast-food chain.
Available for a limited time across McDonald’s locations in North and East India, the Buddy Meal can be enjoyed through dine-in, takeaway, drive-thru, the McDonald’s App, and popular food delivery platforms.
