Prime Video recently released the trailer for its upcoming action-drama, Subedaar, featuring Anil Kapoor in a leading role. The film tells the story of Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired military officer adjusting to life in the challenging environment of India’s heartland. Here, illegal sand mining has created an atmosphere filled with fear and tension. The plot centers around Arjun’s confrontations with Prince, played by Aditya Rawal, while also exploring his complicated relationship with his daughter, Shyama, who is portrayed by Radhikka Madan. The cast also includes notable names like Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Faisal Malik, and Khushboo Sundar.

The trailer suggests an intense showdown between Arjun and his foes, with a strong emotional focus on the father-daughter bond. One powerful line from Anil Kapoor stands out: “Fauji hai, seene mein goli jhel sakte hai, beizzati nahi,” hinting at the film’s unique blend of action and personal drama set against a backdrop of sociopolitical issues.

Anil Kapoor spoke about his experience in this role, describing it as one of the most challenging and emotionally taxing journeys of his career. He emphasizes the themes of discipline, sacrifice, and personal loss that define his character. Kapoor also expressed excitement about collaborating with director Suresh Triveni and shared his appreciation for the film’s creative approach. He hopes audiences globally will resonate with the powerful narrative when it premieres on March 5 in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Radhikka Madan, who plays Shyama, shared her thoughts on her character, highlighting her strength in navigating fear and loss while facing a fragile relationship with her father. She praised Anil Kapoor’s dedication to the craft and expressed her admiration for working under director Suresh Triveni’s guidance.

Director Suresh Triveni framed Subedaar as a homage to traditional cinema, focusing on the father-daughter relationship at its core. He noted that the story explores the struggles of a retired soldier adapting to civilian life while upholding his values.

With its combination of action and emotional depth, Subedaar promises to be a character-driven drama set to stream on Prime Video starting March 5. The film is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor, and Suresh Triveni under Opening Image Films, with the screenplay penned by Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar.
