Dharma Productions and Humble Motion Pictures Settle Bombay HC Battle Over Vyaah Kartaare Da, Insider Shares

Dharma Productions and Dubai-based Humble Motion Pictures FZCO have reached an agreement to settle their legal dispute over the Punjabi film Vyaah Kartaare Da. This resolution comes shortly after Dharma approached the Bombay High Court, claiming that Humble had unlawfully terminated their services agreement.

A source shared that the disagreement started when Dharma alleged that Humble ended the agreement without justification. They sought legal action to prevent Humble from acting on the termination and requested a monetary relief of around ₹7 crores. The good news is that both parties have now resolved the issue amicably. Humble has retracted its termination notice and affirmed its commitment to continue fulfilling the services outlined in the agreement without changes.

Initially, Dharma had filed the petition under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, aiming for prompt protection while awaiting arbitration. Court records indicate that Humble requested more time to respond on February 12, 2026, with further hearings set for February 18.

According to the original services agreement dated December 10, 2025, Dharma was to provide consultancy, marketing, and related services for Vyaah Kartaare Da. This agreement allowed Dharma to recover an estimated ₹7.25 crores in losses from a previous joint venture between the companies.

Dharma claimed it was not responsible for the production costs of the film and was entitled to specific revenue shares until it recouped a set amount of ₹7.03 crores based on the agreement. Tensions arose when Humble allegedly sent an email on January 21, 2026, stating they no longer wished to work with Dharma.

Dharma argued that the agreement did not allow for termination at will and that no breaches were attributed to them. They pointed out that Humble benefited from the association with Dharma before the termination notice was issued.

Now that Humble has agreed to continue with the services contract as originally intended, it appears that the legal complications have been resolved, allowing the collaboration on Vyaah Kartaare Da to move forward smoothly.
