On Saturday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that it had conducted ten airstrikes on more than 30 ISIS targets in Syria recently. This action is part of a strategy to maintain strong military pressure on the remnants of the terrorist group.
From February 3 to February 12, these strikes targeted ISIS infrastructure and weapon storage facilities using planes, helicopters, and drones. Before that, between January 27 and February 2, munitions were deployed against an ISIS communication site and other vital logistical hubs.
CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper stated, “Striking these targets shows our commitment to preventing an ISIS comeback in Syria.” He added that working with coalition partners is essential for ensuring the enduring defeat of ISIS, which makes the region and the world safer.
Insight
The recent Operation Hawkeye Strike was initiated after an ambush by ISIS that killed two U.S. service members and an American interpreter in December 2025. CENTCOM indicated that over 50 ISIS fighters have been killed or captured during two months of targeted operations, with strikes impacting more than 100 ISIS-related locations.
President Trump expressed satisfaction about the situation in Syria, noting, “All things concerning Syria are going very, very well.” Recently, CENTCOM also confirmed the withdrawal of American forces from the al-Tanf Garrison, indicating a change in U.S. military posture in the area.
Operation Inherent Resolve began in 2014 to fight ISIS, with U.S. troops retaining a limited role to support local forces and prevent the group’s resurgence after it lost its territorial strongholds in 2019.
