Actor and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has raised concerns about ICICI Lombard General Insurance, claiming that the company denied her coverage for hospital expenses due to ulcers. In a social media post on July 16, 2026, she shared her struggles with health issues and accused the insurer of placing unreasonable demands on her claim process.
Suchitra expressed her frustration late at night, revealing her difficulties with severe acidity caused by her ulcers. She recounted a previous hospitalization related to these ulcers and stated that her claim was rejected because she did not declare them when she initially purchased the insurance policy.
She emphasized that she did not have ulcers at the time of buying the policy and criticized the company’s request for medical documentation to support her claims. Suchitra expressed her disappointment, stating, “Next they’ll ask for proof of future accidents to approve any claims. It’s disgraceful. I’m no longer seeking reimbursement; I just want to highlight their unscrupulous practices.”
In response, ICICI Lombard acknowledged her comments through their official social media account. They stated that they had already addressed a previous issue and asked her to provide more details if she had submitted a new claim.
The company has not commented further on her specific allegations beyond requesting clarification on the status of any claims.
