Threats to Bollywood Stars Prompt Increased Security Measures

In recent developments in the Bollywood industry, actor Ranveer Singh faced a threatening voice note on WhatsApp, allegedly demanding a hefty ransom. Just hours later, a close associate of actor Salman Khan received a similar threat via email. The sender claimed ties to the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has been at the center of several high-profile threats.

The email reportedly demanded crores of rupees and mentioned connections to the Bishnoi gang, known for its history of extortion and violence. The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has since launched an investigation, focusing on mobile activities around the residences of various celebrities to secure their safety.

As of now, neither Salman Khan nor his associate have officially filed a police complaint concerning the email threat.

Another recent target, Ranveer Singh, has heightened security measures around his home following the WhatsApp threat. The police are actively seeking to trace the origin of the message, suspecting involvement from the same gang. Ranveer’s last film, Dhurandhar, has made waves at the box office, but these threats are casting a shadow over his recent success.

The ongoing conflict between Salman Khan and the Bishnoi gang dates back to 1998. Allegations arose when Khan reportedly hunted a blackbuck during filming for Hum Saath Saath Hain, an animal sacred to the Bishnoi community. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in prison, has openly stated his intentions regarding the actor, vowing to force an apology or harm him.

This recent threat comes amid a surge of security scares in Mumbai. Earlier this month, gunfire was reported at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence, which the Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for through social media.

Currently, investigations are in progress to determine whether the threats against both Ranveer Singh and Salman Khan’s associate are connected. Authorities are intensifying their surveillance efforts as concerns escalate around the safety of public figures in the film industry.
