Akshaye Khanna Not Returning for Race 4
Producer Ramesh Taurani has addressed rumors regarding Akshaye Khanna’s potential return to the popular Race franchise. He confirmed that Khanna has not been approached for Race 4, and there are currently no plans to include him in the upcoming film. This statement comes as interest in Khanna’s career has surged due to the success of his recent movie, Dhurandhar.
The Race series, which kicked off in 2008, is renowned for its thrilling action scenes, unexpected twists, and star-studded casts. Khanna originally played the antagonist in the first film, but his character met a dramatic end in an accident, which Taurani cited as a primary reason for not bringing him back.
In an interview, Taurani stated, “No, we have not approached Akshaye. There was no scope at all. His character had an accident in the first movie, so his storyline concluded there, and it will stay that way.”
Additionally, Taurani clarified that there are no updates on other casting speculations, including actors like Saif Ali Khan or Sidharth Malhotra. He emphasized that the casting process is still open and that they are in the early stages of developing the script for Race 4.
Moreover, writer Shiraz Ahmed had previously mentioned that Race 4 would continue the storyline from Race 1 and 2. Although there have been various reports about potential casting choices, such as Harshvardhan Rane as the antagonist, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
As the production continues to evolve, fans of the franchise eagerly await more updates.
