With just three days remaining until the release of Dhurandhar, anticipation is on the rise for this action-packed film featuring Ranveer Singh. As the buzz continues to grow, we bring you an exclusive update on the film’s details.
Dhurandhar has officially locked in a runtime of 214 minutes, making it one of the longest Bollywood films in recent history. It’s noteworthy that the last film to match this length was Jodhaa Akbar, released in 2008.
This film marks a significant milestone for Ranveer Singh, as it is his first adult-rated movie in 15 years. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given it an ‘A’ certificate, which indicates that it is meant for an older audience.
In terms of content adjustments, the filmmakers were instructed to modify a few scenes to meet the certification standards. They added a voiceover disclaimer in Hindi, and included notifications regarding anti-drug and anti-smoking measures in scenes featuring substance use. Additionally, some violent visuals at the start of the film were replaced with more suitable footage, and certain violent scenes were reduced in the second half. A character’s name was also changed, and one cuss word was muted.
Further changes included incorporating music and extra scenes into the film’s end credits. After these revisions were made, the final censor certificate was issued to the team on December 2.
Dhurandhar is produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and features a star-studded cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is set to hit theaters on December 2.
