Jemimah Rodrigues Shines as India Reaches Women’s World Cup Final

In a thrilling match on October 30, 2025, Jemimah Rodrigues delivered a stunning performance, scoring 127 not out and leading India to the final of the Women’s World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai. The team faced an early hurdle when they lost Shafali Verma, leaving them with just 13 runs on the board in pursuit of 339.

Jemimah teamed up with Smriti Mandhana for a crucial 46-run partnership, but it was her partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur that truly changed the game. Together, they added an impressive 167 runs, bringing India closer to the target as Jemimah reached her century in 115 balls. Despite this achievement, India still needed over 100 runs to secure the win.

As the innings progressed, Jemimah anchored the team while Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh accelerated the scoring. It was a moment of joy when Amanjot Kaur hit the winning runs, sparking a celebration where Jemimah couldn’t hold back her emotions. Surrounded by her teammates, she burst into tears of joy as they rushed to celebrate with her. During her innings, Jemimah hit 14 boundaries, helping India set a new record for the highest run-chase in Women’s ODIs.

Gratitude and Support

After the match, an emotional Jemimah expressed her gratitude, saying, “Firstly, I want to thank Jesus. I couldn’t have pulled it off without his support. I’m also thankful to my mom, dad, and friends who helped me through the challenging last six months.”

With this victory, India is set to face South Africa in the World Cup final on November 2.
