Updates on PM Modi’s Visit to Japan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Tokyo, Japan, for a two-day official visit on August 29 and 30. During this trip, he will attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit and meet with Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
The discussions will focus on key topics such as trade, investment, defense, and advancements in science and technology. Modi will also engage with Japanese industry leaders and political figures while in Tokyo.
This visit comes at a time when India’s relations with the United States have faced challenges, particularly following high tariffs imposed on Indian goods by President Donald Trump.
After his time in Japan, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to travel to China for the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Before heading to Japan, Modi expressed his optimism on Twitter, stating, “I am confident that my visits to Japan and China will strengthen our national interests and priorities and foster cooperation for peace, security, and sustainable development both regionally and globally.”
