Actor and producer Neha Dhupia is bringing attention back to her important initiative, Freedom to Feed, just in time for World Breastfeeding Week 2025. Launched in 2019, this campaign has grown into a significant movement focused on reducing the stigma surrounding public breastfeeding and promoting discussions about maternal health and body autonomy.
This year, Neha is eager to elevate the conversation even further. She plans to engage in candid and meaningful discussions with fellow celebrity mothers like Radhika Apte, Yuvika Chaudhary, and Sonnalli Seygall. These conversations will take place on her social media channels throughout the week, aiming to foster awareness, support, and acceptance about breastfeeding and motherhood.
The latest edition of Freedom to Feed aims to delve deeper into the challenges many women face but often do not discuss—such as emotional pressures and claiming their right to breastfeed in public spaces. The campaign seeks to confront existing taboos and spark a much-needed national conversation.
Neha expressed her passion for reviving this initiative, stating, “When I first started Freedom to Feed, it came from a place of vulnerability and judgment. I realized that many women have experienced similar feelings. This year, I want to amplify our voices and make this conversation even more honest and real. Every mother deserves to feel dignified while feeding her child, and it’s time we all advocate for this.”
As a mother herself, Neha has used her platform to highlight the discomfort and shame that often surrounds public breastfeeding—a topic that has historically been avoided. Over the years, she has gained support from notable women in the entertainment industry like Bipasha Basu, Freida Pinto, Soha Ali Khan, and Dia Mirza, all helping to create a more accepting and understanding atmosphere for nursing mothers.
With powerful stories and voices joining the movement, Freedom to Feed 2025 has the potential to spark a crucial dialogue about breastfeeding and motherhood in society today.
