Mumbai Rains Disrupt Film Shoot for Love & War

Heavy rains that hit Mumbai on May 26 caused significant disruptions, not only affecting daily life but also halting film productions across the city. One of the major projects impacted is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama Love & War, currently being filmed at Film City in Goregaon.

Key Scene Delayed

Reports indicate that Bhansali had planned a crucial outdoor scene featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal for Monday afternoon. However, the torrential downpour and waterlogging made it impossible to proceed. This specific scene, which is vital for the film’s dramatic arc, required unique lighting conditions that were not attainable due to the overcast skies.

An insider stated, “It was an essential sequence that needed to be shot outdoors. With the weather affecting safety and visibility, Bhansali decided it was best to postpone.”

Safety and Logistical Issues

The production team, comprising over 500 people, faced additional challenges as local train services were disrupted. Many crew members living in distant suburbs were unable to reach the set, prompting the director to cancel the shoot for the day to prioritize safety and well-being.

Scheduling Complexities

Love & War boasts a star-studded cast, including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal, making scheduling quite tight. Although Alia was not involved in this specific scene, both Ranbir and Vicky had set aside the week for filming. With forecasts predicting more rain, Bhansali has temporarily paused the shoot. A source added, “The filming is expected to resume later this week as conditions improve. This small delay shouldn’t affect the overall timeline.”

Despite this setback, the production is expected to remain on track for a March 2026 release.
