Imty Inspires Future Automotive Professionals at Derby College

On January 24, 2025, Derby College Group’s Roundhouse hosted an exciting presentation by Imty from Gtech Motorworks for 170 eager students, many of whom are studying automotive courses.

As the founder of Gtech Motorworks, Imty shared his inspiring story of how he started from humble beginnings and grew into a successful business owner in the automotive field. His talk provided students with practical insights into running a business, shedding light on the real challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Imty’s guidance included essential financial tips and practical tools to help students face future hurdles in their careers.

Imty stressed the importance of dedication, continuous learning, and building a robust set of skills in automotive repair and design. To make his points even more relatable, he showcased his own rebuilt BMW 240i track car. This stunning vehicle served as a powerful example of what patience and hard work can achieve. It illustrated how students can apply their classroom skills to real-life projects, sparking excitement and inspiration among those present.

As students gathered around the impressive car, their enthusiasm was evident. Imty took the opportunity to share the technical details of the car’s rebuild, discussing the challenges he encountered along the way and the key lessons he learned. His deep love for automotive engineering and a commitment to excellence truly resonated with the students, motivating them to apply similar principles in their studies and careers.

Gareth Sullivan-Pearce, Team Manager – Motor Vehicle for Derby College Group, noted how engaged the students were during the session. “Imty’s ability to mix practical business advice with technical know-how is priceless. It’s a unique advantage for students to hear from someone who has successfully navigated the automotive industry while also mastering the technical aspects,” he said.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Imty and the Gtech Motorworks team for inspiring and educating the next generation of automotive professionals. Your enthusiasm and willingness to share your journey have left a profound impact on our students.

We are excited to witness the promising futures these students will create, motivated by the valuable lessons and encouragement from Imty.
