In a significant development regarding the stabbing case of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, authorities have detained a second suspect in Durg, Chhattisgarh, following an extensive 50-hour manhunt. The suspect was apprehended by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) while traveling in a train’s general compartment. Mumbai Police have noted that this individual closely resembles the attacker identified in CCTV footage taken from the actor’s apartment in Bandra.

This incident began when Saif Ali Khan was attacked during what is suspected to be a burglary attempt at his luxury residence. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect at various locations, including Bandra and Dadar railway stations, carrying a distinctive black bag, which has since become an important piece of evidence in the investigation.

After reviewing the CCTV footage, police quickly alerted railway authorities, leading to the suspect’s capture in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district. Reports indicate his mobile number is registered under the name Rajendra Kodepe from Rajnandgaon, although official confirmation of this identity is still awaited.

The suspect was detained with local police assistance while on board a train. Eyewitness accounts describe him as closely resembling the person seen leaving the crime scene. Police have also retrieved the bag he was carrying, which is said to have been purchased from a local market.

The attack on Saif Ali Khan occurred when an intruder stabbed him multiple times during the break-in. He was swiftly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to remove a piece of a blade lodged in his spine.

Following the incident, law enforcement has been gathering testimonies from witnesses, including family members and others present at the scene. While the suspect is now in custody, no definitive evidence connecting him to the crime has been established yet. Police are focused on confirming his identity and motivations behind the attack.

Mumbai Police and the Railway Protection Force are working together to further investigate the case, reviewing additional footage and questioning the suspect to delve deeper into his involvement. The swift response from these agencies has been crucial in handling the situation effectively.

Fortunately, Saif Ali Khan is on the mend and is reported to be out of immediate danger. Authorities remain committed to ensuring justice in this case, striving to bring closure to the actor and his family.
