Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kuwait on Saturday, where he praised the contributions of the Indian community to the nation’s development. He emphasized how the diaspora has enriched Kuwait with Indian skills and culture, highlighting that India possesses the manpower, expertise, and technology essential for the vision of a “New Kuwait.”
This visit marks the first time in 43 years that an Indian Prime Minister has traveled to Kuwait, as Modi pointed out, “It only takes four hours to travel from India to Kuwait, but it took four decades for a Prime Minister to make this journey.”
During his address to the Indian community, Modi celebrated the upcoming festivals and remarked on the diverse backgrounds of the attendees. “You have all come from different regions of India, and looking at this gathering, it feels like a mini India has emerged here,” he said. He acknowledged the significant influence of the Indian community in Kuwait, stating that they have infused local society with the vibrant colors of Indian talent, traditions, and technology.
Modi concluded with a message of cooperation, reaffirming that India is ready to support Kuwait’s future development needs.
