Imtiaz Ali, the well-known filmmaker, is reportedly stepping into a new realm with a quirky romantic comedy titled Idiots of Istanbul. Although nothing has been officially confirmed yet, there is growing excitement that the film will feature Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri in leading roles.

There is a buzz in the air regarding Fahadh Faasil potentially making his Bollywood debut with this Netflix project. He has already made a name for himself with stellar performances in Malayalam cinema and recent hits like Pushpa 2: The Rule and Aavesham. Sources indicate that he is in advanced discussions with Imtiaz Ali about the film.

A close insider revealed that the title Idiots of Istanbul is fitting as it marks a shift for Imtiaz Ali from intense romance to a light-hearted romantic comedy. The narrative is expected to follow two main characters embarking on a journey to Istanbul, and the director believes that Fahadh is the perfect choice for one of the roles, adding to the film’s charm. The actor is said to be enthusiastic about working with Ali and the team.

Production for Idiots of Istanbul is anticipated to kick off in early 2025, with filming planned to last around three months. The pre-production phase is already underway, with Imtiaz Ali currently refining the script and scouting for locations. While fans are eager for official confirmation, the growing excitement continues to build around this new project from the acclaimed director.

On the acting front, Fahadh is currently featured in Pushpa 2, while Triptii Dimri’s last film was Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, alongside Rajkummar Rao. She also has an upcoming project directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, starring Shahid Kapoor, to look forward to.

Stay tuned as the news unfolds regarding this intriguing collaboration and Imtiaz Ali’s creative journey ahead!
