Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming movie, Deva, originally set for release in the first week of February, has been moved up to the last week of January. Exciting news has just come in that Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films will be releasing their grand historical drama, Chhaava, on February 14, in time for Valentine’s Week. This decision comes after previous speculation about the film’s release date.
Initially, Chhaava was expected to hit theaters in December this year. However, with other major films scheduled for release, including the action-packed Pushpa 2: The Rule and Baby John, the producers decided it was best to postpone the film by two months. The new release date in February is significant, as it not only aligns with Valentine’s Day but also relates to the story of Chhaava. This date is just days before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, which falls on February 19.
The film focuses on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and is based on a book by Shivaji Sawant. With Vicky Kaushal portraying Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika Mandanna making her debut as his wife Yesubai, fans are eager to see their chemistry on screen. Akshaye Khanna will also play a crucial role as Aurangzeb, marking his return to theaters following Drishyam 2. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is anticipated to be a grand cinematic experience, now set to release on February 14.
