Dallas Megachurch Leader T.D. Jakes Addresses Recent Health Scare
DALLAS – T.D. Jakes, the well-known pastor of a prominent Dallas megachurch, has spoken out after experiencing a health issue during his sermon on Sunday. This unexpected event quickly gained attention online.
During his sermon, which lasted about an hour, Jakes suddenly lowered his microphone and began to tremble. In no time, members of the audience rushed to assist him on stage.
Jakes later confirmed through a statement on Facebook that he received prompt medical care and is currently in stable condition. While the church did not specify the nature of the health scare, Jakes mentioned on Wednesday that he did not suffer a stroke.
He expressed gratitude, saying, "I am thankful to the Lord that I did not have a stroke. This situation could have ended much worse without God’s intervention.”
Following the incident, over 2,000 comments flooded the church’s Facebook page, where supporters shared their prayers and well-wishes for Jakes’ swift recovery.
The pastor took a moment to thank both God and the medical staff for their quick response, stating he feels "forever humbled" by the tremendous support he received.
While he did not indicate when he will return to lead services, Jakes shared a heartfelt message reflecting on his experience:
“Serving God’s people is an incredible privilege and I poured my heart into Sunday’s message. Even when I felt overwhelmed, I pressed on. This reminds me that we all need to lean on God’s strength. I am deeply thankful for the care I received and for my loving family and church community. It is essential for me to rest and reflect as I heal, and I recognize that taking a break is not a sign of weakness, but a blessing.”
He also noted, “God’s presence was clearly felt by all. I am truly moved by the love and support from everyone. May God continue to guide and provide peace for us all.”
