Grady Health officials have announced changes regarding how nursing hours are compensated. In a recent statement to Channel 2 Action News, the health system shared that the temporary block pay for certain positions, which was introduced to address staffing issues, will come to an end in about a month.
Despite this upcoming change, Grady administration reassured that nurses’ regular pay will remain unchanged. They emphasized that at the time this temporary pay was introduced, staff were made aware it would only last for a limited period.
Staff members have been notified of the upcoming changes with a 30-day warning. A representative from Grady Health explained that the adjustments are necessary due to cuts in federal healthcare funding, including the end of enhanced federal subsidies, which are putting financial strain on health systems across the country.
