Israel Remains Vigilant Against Potential Iranian Threats During Trump Transition, Says Ambassador

Israel Remains Alert to Potential Iranian Aggression During U.S. Transition

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, expressed concerns about possible aggressive actions from Iran, especially during the transition period of the Trump administration. He warned that any attack from Tehran would be a significant mistake. "We are prepared for all scenarios," Danon stated in an interview.

These comments follow a declaration from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who promised that Iran would respond to recent Israeli airstrikes on its territory. Araghchi insisted that Iran hasn’t abandoned its right to retaliate and would choose the time and manner for their response.

Danon advised Iran against testing Israel, underlining that Israeli forces have already demonstrated their abilities to strike any location within Iranian borders. He emphasized that Israel is vigilant and ready for any potential threats during this political transition.

Israeli and U.S. Response to U.N. Resolution

Danon highlighted a critical challenge ahead for the incoming Trump administration: how to confront Iran’s aggression. He noted that the U.S. must reestablish its leadership on this front. "Iran, along with groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, poses a shared threat to the U.S. and Israel," he explained, urging Americans to understand Israel’s current actions.

In a related development, the U.S. recently vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution that sought a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Hamas. Danon criticized the resolution for failing to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas, stating, "It was shameful because it did not connect the ceasefire with the release of the hostages." He praised the U.S. for standing firm with Israel, signaling a strong alliance between the countries.

Danon’s remarks reflect the ongoing tensions in the region and Israel’s steadfast commitment to protecting its national security while navigating complex diplomatic challenges.
