Ekta Kapoor is all set to release her new film, Sambarmati Report, which stars Vikrant Massey and is based on the 2022 Godhra train burning incident. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 15. Alongside this project, Ekta has a lineup of upcoming films, including Bhooth Bangla, which will be directed by Priyadarshan and features Akshay Kumar, expected in 2025. Another project in the pipeline is Vann, starring Siddharth Malhotra and directed by Deepak Mishra, known for the series Panchayat.
In an exciting development, Ekta has also teamed up with Rahi Anil Barve, the talented director behind Tumbbad, for yet another film. Sources suggest that Ekta is a huge admirer of Barve’s style and quality of work, which led her to sign him for a new venture under Balaji. While the script is still in development, it promises to be a compelling feature film, with production anticipated to start next year once everything is finalized. She plans to cast a prominent younger actor for this project.
Additionally, Ekta is gearing up for Ragini MMS 3, for which she has commissioned writer Rajat Arora. This film is expected to begin production in 2025 and will feature three female protagonists in dynamic roles. The timeline for Ragini MMS 3 will be confirmed once the screenplay is completed by Arora.
To clarify, both Ragini MMS 3 and the film with Rahi Anil Barve are distinct projects, both set to start filming in 2025. Meanwhile, preparations for Bhooth Bangla and Vann are already underway, with both films likely to start shooting in January 2025.
