The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared on Friday that since the initiation of their limited ground operation in southern Lebanon, a staggering tally of 250 Hezbollah militants has been neutralized, among whom are nearly two dozen key commanders.
“Through a combination of ground assaults and aerial bombardments, approximately 250 terrorists have been eradicated, with over 2,000 targeted operations executed against military infrastructure,” articulated IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee via a post on X. He specified that these operations were directed at various targets, ranging from terrorist apparatus and facilities to weapon repositories and missile launching sites.
“As part of our strategic initiative, our forces successfully uprooted entrenched terrorists hidden within buildings adjacent to the separation fence, effectively thwarting Hezbollah from breaching this barrier, thereby safeguarding the northern residents of Israel,” Adraee elaborated. Furthermore, the forces stumbled upon caches of combat equipment, operational missile launchers prepared for deployment, and explosive devices abandoned by Hezbollah operatives.
In the midst of this tumultuous landscape, the IDF also reported the loss of two soldiers during confrontations “in northern Israel.”
### Devastating Losses on Both Sides:
The ongoing conflict has taken a heavy toll, with the IDF confirming that eight Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes in southern Lebanon just days prior. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his sorrow in a poignant video message, offering condolences to the families of the fallen warriors. “May God avenge their deaths. May their memory be a blessing,” he stated, invoking a sense of solemnity amidst the chaos.
“We find ourselves entrenched in a formidable struggle against Iran’s malevolent influence, which harbors ambitions of our destruction. Such aspirations shall be thwarted, for united, alongside divine providence, we shall emerge victorious,” Netanyahu asserted, vowing to return the hostages held in the south and to ensure the safety of those residing in the north, ultimately pledging to secure Israel’s future.
In this volatile theater of war, the stakes are extraordinarily high, as both sides brace for the ongoing challenges that lie ahead, caught in a cycle of conflict that reverberates far beyond their immediate borders.
