Actor Ranbir Kapoor has shared an exciting sneak peek of his upcoming fashion and lifestyle brand, ARKS, which is set to launch on February 14, 2025. This marks Kapoor’s official entry into the fashion world. In a recent video, he rides his bike through the vibrant streets of Mumbai, showcasing his strong bond with the city. His wife, Alia Bhatt, has also expressed her enthusiasm for the launch, supporting Kapoor’s long-held dream of creating his own brand.
The promotional video showcases Kapoor pedaling past famous Mumbai landmarks, such as Marine Drive and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, as well as a mural honoring his late father, Rishi Kapoor, at Bandstand. While narrating the video, Kapoor reflects, "I have traveled to many cities around the world, but Mumbai has a unique energy that inspires me to try, fail, and keep going." He emphasizes how the city has profoundly influenced his character and plays a vital role in who he is.
Kapoor’s aspiration to start a brand has been evident for a long time. In a July 2023 interview on the show People by WTF, he shared his ambition to launch a fashion line that stands out from typical celebrity brands. He candidly said, "I’ve loved sneakers since I was a kid. I’m really passionate about it. But I also feel nervous because I’m not entirely familiar with the Indian market."
While sneakers will be a significant focus of ARKS, Kapoor aims to transform wardrobe essentials as a whole. He envisions offering top-quality basics like white T-shirts, jeans, and shirts, in addition to footwear. Regarding the current state of streetwear, he commented, "Streetwear has become a bit mixed up. I’d love to redefine what essential items like white T-shirts and jeans should be, along with sneakers, which I adore."
On the film front, Kapoor is preparing for Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This film reunites him with Bhansali after Saawariya in 2007 and features co-stars Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt. Additionally, he has another project lined up, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan.
