Rohit Shetty has officially announced the production of the much-anticipated film, Golmaal 5, putting an end to months of speculation. On September 19, he shared a lively motion poster featuring fan-favorite actors like Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, and Tusshar Kapoor. This news comes nearly nine years after Golmaal Again, the fourth film in the popular franchise.
In his Instagram post, Shetty included the familiar whistle tune that audiences have come to associate with the series. He expressed his excitement, saying, “LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY… BAS, NOTHING ELSE.” Moreover, he revealed that Golmaal 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on January 8, 2027.
One of the highlights for fans is the return of the original cast, including Sharman Joshi, who hasn’t appeared since the franchise’s earlier days in 2006. Viewers can expect to see the familiar banter and rivalry between Ajay Devgn and Arshad Warsi, along with Tusshar Kapoor’s iconic “Ae ah oh” catchphrase. Additionally, the film will showcase the dynamic between Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, and Sharman Joshi.
While details about the leading lady or ladies are still under wraps, the franchise has a history of featuring notable actresses. Kareena Kapoor Khan has previously appeared in two films, playing the romantic interest of Ajay Devgn. Golmaal Again also brought together Ajay and Tabu for a unique horror-comedy experience, making it a special project in their careers.
Fans might recall that hints about a fifth installment began circulating as early as 2018 when Arshad Warsi and his co-stars performed a dance in a remixed version of “Aankh Maare” in the movie Simmba. Many fans interpreted this as a subtle clue about the future of the franchise.
