Esha Dharmendra Deol has officially joined the cast of the much-anticipated film Malamaal Weekly 2. The actress shared her excitement about this new project, highlighting that it’s the kind of fun and light-hearted comedy she has been looking for.
In her own words, Esha expressed, “This is exactly what I needed – something fun, light-hearted, and full of laughter. After working on two very different projects, the horror-comedy Ghungat and SYG: Sambarala Yeti Gattu, I was eager to take on a full-fledged comic caper, and Malamaal Weekly 2 came along at just the right time.”
Esha has a history with comedy, having previously been part of films like No Entry (2005), Shaadi No 1 (2005), and One Two Three (2008). She stated, “The script is absolutely hilarious, and I genuinely think everyone is going to love it. I’m thrilled to be part of a film that promises fun, laughter, and pure entertainment.”
Malamaal Weekly 2 has been in the works since early 2026, with Amit Joshi, known for Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), set to direct the film. In addition to Esha, other well-known actors like Raveena Tandon, Parineeti Chopra, Shilpa Shirodkar, Fardeen Khan, Elvish Yadav, Rajpal Yadav, and Mahesh Manjrekar are also part of the cast.
The film is expected to start shooting in November 2026 and will introduce a fresh storyline while maintaining the essence of the original film. It will revolve around ordinary people in a small town facing chaos due to poverty, greed, and unexpected wealth.
Esha’s return to the comedy genre has garnered much attention, and fans are eagerly looking forward to what Malamaal Weekly 2 has to offer.
