ZEE 5’s popular crime series Rangbaaz is set to make a comeback with its fourth season. Following its recent announcement, production is gearing up to start next week in Bhopal, where the crew plans to film for about two months, aiming to finish by November.
The new season will be directed by Ranjan Chandel, who previously gained acclaim for his work on the crime drama Grahan. Reports suggest that the show’s creators have chosen him to elevate the franchise, aiming for a narrative that is more intense, featuring themes of crime, politics, ambition, and power. This project marks Chandel’s first significant work since parting ways with Ekta Kapoor’s The Sabarmati Report over different creative views.
Rangbaaz Season 4 promises to be bigger and more ambitious than earlier seasons, focusing on a fresh story while continuing to explore the gritty realms of notorious criminals and political figures in India. Mohit Raina will take on the lead role, supported by a talented cast that includes Vijay Raaz, Arunoday Singh, Pawan Malhotra, Zoya Afroz, Rahul Dev, Ashutosh Rana, and Manu Rishi Chadha. Additionally, television actress Kanikka Kapur, known for her role in Batwara 1947, will also join the ensemble.
Produced by JAR Pictures, the upcoming season revolves around a young man with dreams and ideals. However, when those dreams are shattered, he finds himself pulled into the criminal underworld. As he navigates his changing circumstances, his ambition begins to influence his choices, leading him down a path where every decision has weighty consequences. The series is expected to premiere on ZEE 5 in early 2027.
