‘We Will Be Heard’: CJP Calls for Arrest Following Fatal Assault on Bengal School Campaign Volunteer’s Father

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has called for the urgent arrest of those responsible for the tragic death of Janab Mafik, the father of a CJP volunteer named Shaik Abdul Hafeez, in West Bengal. This demand came after Hafeez was reportedly attacked while investigating a local government school’s condition under the CJP’s “School Thik Karo” initiative.

According to reports, Mafik died due to severe head injuries sustained during the incident that occurred at their family’s home. The assault happened after Hafeez took part in the “School Thik Karo” campaign on August 13, which aimed to assess and improve educational infrastructure.

Witnesses suggest that individuals, allegedly connected to the local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), forcibly entered the Hafeez’s home later that evening. Hafeez, speaking from the hospital in a recorded message, claimed that a school teacher had informed these political workers about his inspection, which led to the violence.

The alleged attackers demanded that Hafeez apologize on video for addressing the school’s condition, claiming he was influenced by others. When Hafeez refused, they reportedly launched a violent attack on him and his family. He suffered a serious neck injury, while his father sustained critical head injuries.

In response to the violence, Hafeez documented his injuries in a video and fled to Kolkata due to safety concerns. Sadly, his father passed away from his injuries on August 15.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke stated, “We will not be silenced and intimidated. Our fight for better schools will continue. The CJP stands firmly with Abdul and his family, demanding immediate action against those responsible for his father’s death.”

The “School Thik Karo” campaign encourages citizens to inspect local government schools and highlight deficiencies. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das expressed deep concern for Hafeez and condemned the attack, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to seeking justice for the family. He criticized the police for failing to take action after the initial assault, calling for a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.

A delegation from the CJP’s National Working Committee, led by co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, plans to visit West Bengal to show support for Hafeez and his family while pushing for accountability regarding the violent events.
