Nissan India has welcomed famous actor Hrithik Roshan as its new brand ambassador, aligning with the launch of their exciting new mid-size SUV, the Tekton. This partnership is significant as Nissan aims to strengthen its position in the competitive SUV market in India with this flagship model.
The Tekton starts at a price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and marks Nissan’s entry into the mid-size SUV category, making it a key part of their local lineup. Bookings for the vehicle have officially begun, and customer deliveries are set to start on July 20.
By featuring Hrithik Roshan, Nissan hopes to enhance its brand visibility and appeal to a broader audience as they introduce the Tekton to Indian consumers. This collaboration is expected to boost their presence in the rapidly growing SUV sector.
Design-wise, the Tekton boasts a striking and robust appearance with a large front grille, LED headlights, and distinctive C-shaped daytime running lights. The sculpted hood features the name “Tekton” prominently, while its side profile showcases flared wheel arches, stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, and convenient pull-style door handles. The back continues the bold design with unique tail lamps and a sturdy bumper. Customers can choose from 11 exterior colors, including six monotone and five dual-tone options.
Inside, the Tekton offers a contemporary dual-tone cabin with four different interior themes. It comes with a modern digital dashboard that features a substantial infotainment touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. Notable amenities include ventilated seats, power-adjustable front seats, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and Google built-in services such as Google Maps.
Additional features include paddle shifters, an electronic parking brake, a smart powered tailgate, and adaptive cruise control. There are six trim levels available, catering to various needs and budgets.
The Tekton is powered by two turbo-petrol engine options. The first is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine that generates 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque, while the second option is a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine that delivers 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) for the larger engine. The fuel efficiency is rated at 19.4 kmpl for the 1.0-liter variant and up to 18.5 kmpl for the 1.3-liter engine. With the launch of the Tekton and a revitalized branding strategy featuring Hrithik Roshan, Nissan is focusing on boosting its foothold in India’s burgeoning SUV market.
