The Nampally Court has postponed the hearing in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case related to the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, taking place on December 4, 2024, in Hyderabad. Actor Allu Arjun was supposed to appear in person but attended the session virtually after receiving the court’s approval. The next hearing is scheduled for July 6, as several accused individuals did not appear.

Earlier, the court had summoned all 23 suspects named in the case, including Allu Arjun, who is identified as Accused No. 11. His legal team stated that the actor is currently filming in Mumbai, and as a result, he sought permission to join via video conference. His lawyers confirmed that he would comply with the summons through this method.

Advocate Bhanu Chander, representing the Sandhya Theatre management, addressed the media outside the court. He explained that the absence of some accused prevented further progress in the case. According to him, only one or two of the accused were missing from the court today, which led to the decision to defer the hearing.

The case originates from a tragic event during the special screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule. A large crowd had gathered outside the Sandhya Theatre to see Allu Arjun, resulting in a stampede. Sadly, a 35-year-old woman named Revathi lost her life, and her eight-year-old son, Sritej, suffered serious injuries and had to be hospitalized.

The court has now set July 6 for the next steps in the case.
