Aamir Khan Productions is set to create a documentary about President Droupadi Murmu, focusing on her inspiring life journey. Directed by Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal, this documentary will showcase how Murmu rose from a small village in Odisha to become the President of India.
The film aims to highlight significant milestones in her personal and professional life, detailing the challenges she faced along the way. This project continues Aamir Khan Productions’ commitment to telling meaningful real-life stories.
The documentary will delve into various stages of Murmu’s life, including her childhood, her entry into politics, and her historic election as the first tribal President of India. It plans to reveal the personal struggles and setbacks she has encountered, painting a portrait of a leader whose determination serves as an inspiration.
Murmu took office as the 15th President of India in 2022, making her one of the few women to hold the country’s highest constitutional post. Reports indicate that some scenes for the documentary have already been filmed in her hometown, using local actors to depict significant moments from her early years.
This film marks a reunion between Aamir Khan Productions and Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal, who also directed the documentary anthology Rubaru Roshni in 2019.
In the midst of this exciting project, Aamir Khan is also promoting his upcoming film Batwara 1947, which is set to be released in theaters on August 14, 2026.
