Advance Booking Opens for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Advance ticket sales for Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated film, The Odyssey, kicked off in India at 10:00 AM on June 8, despite the film’s release being more than a month away. Currently, Universal Pictures has made available only two IMAX screenings: one in the early morning and another in the evening. While many expected ticket prices to soar, even higher than those for Nolan’s previous film, Oppenheimer, or the newly released Dhurandhar The Revenge, it comes as a relief that several cinemas are offering more affordable rates.

Mumbai

In Mumbai, the Inox Malad cinema offers some of the cheapest tickets, with morning shows priced at Rs. 450, Rs. 470, and Rs. 520. For the evening screening at 5:00 PM, tickets range from Rs. 700 to Rs. 800. Erox IMAX offers morning prices starting at Rs. 500, while their evening show tickets go up to Rs. 750.

PVR Lower Parel’s pricing is a bit higher, with morning shows costing Rs. 700, Rs. 800, and Rs. 1400. For the evening show at 8:30 PM, ticket prices are Rs. 900, Rs. 1200, and Rs. 1400.

Cinepolis cinemas appear to have the highest prices. At their Thane location, morning shows are priced around Rs. 950 to Rs. 1050, while evening shows can go up to Rs. 1600. Similarly, Cinepolis Seawoods has no tickets under Rs. 1300, with evening shows costing as much as Rs. 2000.

Delhi-NCR

In the Delhi-NCR region, PVR Vegas Dwarka has tickets in the four-digit range for both shows, costing Rs. 830 to Rs. 1050. However, PVR Priya offers more reasonable pricing, starting at Rs. 450 for regular seats, while recliners are set at Rs. 1400. In Noida, PVR Superplex sells afternoon show tickets for Rs. 640 to Rs. 760, and evening shows start from Rs. 700.

The best deals can be found at Inox Paras, with morning show tickets priced as low as Rs. 370, making it one of the most economical choices for watching The Odyssey.

Southern India and Kolkata

In Bangalore, ticket prices at Cinepolis Nexus are between Rs. 900 and Rs. 1000. Cinepolis Kochi offers rates that range from Rs. 750 to Rs. 950. Meanwhile, the popular Broadway cinema in Coimbatore has a flat ticket price of Rs. 508. In Kolkata, Inox South City has morning ticket prices at Rs. 470 and Rs. 500.

Pune

For those in Pune, expect to pay the highest prices in the country. Morning tickets at Cinepolis Aundh and Inox Megaplex can cost between Rs. 1400 and Rs. 2600. Evening shows in these cinemas can cost as much as Rs. 3000.

Summary

As of 10:45 AM on June 8, many IMAX locations have yet to start their ticket sales, including venues in Chennai and Ahmedabad. It’s important to note that cinemas often adjust prices based on demand, so costs could increase as more tickets sell.
