Rakesh Roshan Dismisses Budget Disputes for Krrish 4
The excitement surrounding the development of Krrish 4 has been paired with some speculation about disagreements between Hrithik Roshan and Yash Raj Films concerning the film’s budget. However, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has firmly stated that these reports are unfounded, assuring fans that the much-anticipated superhero movie is progressing well.
In recent discussions, there had been talk about Hrithik wanting to create a grand production with top-notch visual effects and thrilling action scenes, setting his sights on a budget of around ₹500 crores. Meanwhile, Yash Raj Films was reportedly aiming to keep the costs to about ₹350 crores for the sake of profitability.
Addressing these claims, Rakesh Roshan commented, “It’s all nonsense that Hrithik has asked for a ₹500 crore budget for his directorial debut while YRF wants to limit it to ₹350 crores. Creating a great film for a broad audience requires time, much like how I approached each of my previous Krrish projects.”
He added some insight into the reason behind the delay in production. According to him, the scheduling conflict is the main issue, not any financial or creative disagreements. “Krrish is on another planet, and we are all waiting for his dates,” he humorously noted, referring to Hrithik’s busy work schedule.
Rakesh reassured fans that it’s a collaborative effort among all parties involved, emphasizing, “There are no issues; everything is moving smoothly. It’s teamwork between Adi, Hrithik, and me.”
The development of Krrish 4 has seen several changes over the years, with initial involvement from director Karan Malhotra and producer Siddharth Anand. Eventually, Hrithik stepped up to take on the director’s role himself. The project is backed by Rakesh Roshan’s Filmkraft in collaboration with Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films.
While Rakesh hasn’t provided a specific timeline for when filming might start, he did mention that the script is almost finalized and there are hopes to kick off production by the end of the year. “I will keep you updated when everything is ready,” he said.
