Kuwait Condemns Iranian Attacks on International Airport
Kuwait has strongly condemned recent Iranian missile and drone attacks, particularly targeting Kuwait International Airport. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over these assaults, which have led to casualties and injuries among civilians.
In an official statement, Kuwait denounced the “brutal and ongoing Iranian aggression.” The latest incident occurred early in the morning, causing damage to essential facilities, including the airport, where one person lost their life, and others were injured. The Ministry of Defense later confirmed that a building at the airport suffered significant damage, and the injured received medical attention.
Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi stated that drones targeted the passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport. He assured that the armed forces are closely watching the situation and are prepared to take necessary steps to ensure national security.
These hostile actions come in the wake of increased tensions, as U.S. forces have conducted self-defense strikes against Iranian targets in response to earlier threats. U.S. Central Command reported that American forces successfully intercepted several Iranian missiles aimed at regional neighbors, with some missiles failing to reach their targets.
The situation remains tense, with CENTCOM affirming its readiness to protect U.S. personnel and allies in the region. The military continues to monitor any further Iranian actions closely.
As fears mount over regional stability, the international community is urged to address the escalating hostilities to prevent further escalation.
