Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Rashmika Mandanna, and producers Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg gathered recently in Mumbai for the launch of the trailer for Cocktail 2. Unfortunately, the event was quite chaotic, making it hard for journalists to hear and see the stars due to management issues and a subpar sound system. Despite these challenges, the team brought some fun and laughter with their lively remarks.
Speculations have been rife for months about Kriti and Rashmika portraying a couple in the film. When asked about this, Dinesh Vijan turned to Rashmika, saying, “Can you explain? There are rumors that you and Kriti are a couple in the movie.”
Before Rashmika could respond, Kriti chimed in, “I think the rumors are coming from one source,” teasingly pointing at Shahid. Surprised, he responded, “I didn’t say anything! Where are these rumors coming from?”
Kriti reminisced about their first meeting, stating, “We met while working out together. I was amazed by how hard Rashmika trains!”
Rashmika added, “It felt effortless between us. We just clicked.” Shahid then probed, “Is that why people think it’s a love story? Because of your chemistry?”
Kriti remarked, “It’s unfortunate. When two men are close friends, it’s seen as ‘bromance’, but when it’s women, people jump to conclusions about rivalry or something else.”
Homi Adajania explained, “The rumors likely started when we noticed how close they became on set. We even joked about what it would be like if their story included Shahid as the third wheel.”
Dinesh quickly clarified, “Let’s set the record straight! As you can see in the trailer, there are two love stories at play—old love, new love, and the dynamic with Luv.”
Cocktail 2 is set to hit theaters on June 19, and audiences are eager to see what this new tale will bring.
