Gujarat Community Comes Together for Successful Convention in Orlando

An exciting four-day convention celebrating the Gujarati community was held in Orlando, Florida, from May 22 to 25, 2026. Nearly 4,000 attendees gathered to embrace their heritage, foster connections, and build a shared sense of purpose.

The event was organized by the Gujarati Society of Central Florida and marked the successful conclusion of the Federation of Gujarati Associations USA (FOGAUSA) Convention 2026. Participants enjoyed a variety of cultural and social activities, all aimed at enhancing community ties.

Key figures behind the event included founder members Dr. Vasudev Patel, Harshad ‘Pakaji’ Patel, Prakash (PV) Patel, Chirag Dave, Divyesh Tripathi, and Jayesh Patel, who served as the chairman of the Convention. They were supported by a dedicated team in Central Florida.

Organizers estimated that around 3,800 individuals from across the country attended, making this one of the largest gatherings of the Gujarati community in the United States. A press release highlighted that the event celebrated Gujarati culture, heritage, and family values, creating memorable experiences for attendees of all ages.

The convention offered a mix of programs covering educational, spiritual, and networking opportunities, catering to various age groups and interests. Highlights included matrimonial networking, leadership forums, women’s empowerment sessions, cultural performances, and discounted theme park packages. The entertainment was tailored for all age groups, ensuring everyone had something to enjoy.

Jayesh Patel shared his pride in serving the community, mentioning how rewarding it was to build relationships and create lasting memories for families.

Held at the Renaissance Orlando (SeaWorld), this was the second convention aimed at bringing together the estimated 1.8 million Gujaratis living in the U.S. The event saw representation from over 100 Gujarati associations nationwide.

The convention kicked off with guest registrations and a vibrant opening day filled with engaging programs and community networking. On Friday, yoga and wellness sessions began the day, followed by a grand inauguration featuring spiritual blessings and cultural performances. One of the standout events was the lively Garba Night, where thousands participated in celebrating Gujarati music and dance.

The final days were focused on spirituality, wellness, and recognizing the contributions of volunteers and community leaders who helped make the convention a success. FOGA was established in 2021 to unite Gujarati associations across the U.S. and hosted its first successful convention in 2024 in Dallas, Texas.
