Ranveer Singh is set to move forward with his new film, Pralay, despite recent challenges he’s facing in the industry. Reportedly, filming is expected to kick off in August.
This update comes amid controversy surrounding Ranveer’s departure from Don 3. Following his exit from the project directed by Farhan Akhtar, the production company Excel Entertainment expressed concerns about significant financial losses and is reportedly seeking about Rs 45 crores to cover pre-production costs.
On May 25, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him, stating he did not respond to requests to discuss the situation. This decision has stirred mixed reactions on social media, as some users question whether the action is too harsh.
However, insiders suggest that the situation has not impacted Pralay. A source indicated, “Everything is on track and proceeding as scheduled. FWICE’s directive hasn’t affected the film at all; it will begin shooting in August.”
It’s worth noting that the filmmakers of Pralay have not yet officially confirmed their shooting timeline or commented on the current controversy.
Pralay is generating buzz among audiences thanks to its unique concept. Described as a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller, the film is set in a ruined version of Mumbai and aims to utilize advanced AI technology to depict a decaying city atmosphere.
Jai Mehta, son of renowned director Hansal Mehta, will be making his directorial debut with this film. He previously co-directed well-received series like Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere, and fans are looking forward to his fresh take on this large-scale thriller.
Meanwhile, Ranveer has not publicly commented on the Don 3 issue. His team has stated that prioritizing professionalism and respect in discussions is important.
