Upcoming Films Announced by Gudgudi Team at Cannes
As their debut short film, Gudgudi, prepares for screening at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20, filmmaker Manisha Makwana and producer Harshvardhan Patel of White Peacock Films have exciting news. They have revealed plans for two new feature films, marking a significant moment for their production house.
The first project is a folklore thriller focusing on the serious issue of witch hunting. Directed by Manisha Makwana and written by Yuvraj Gadhvi, this film aims to combine gripping storytelling with a hard-hitting message, rooted in Indian folklore and social issues.
The second film will be a romantic drama, directed by Amit Prem Mishra. Manisha Makwana will also take on the role of producer for this project, alongside Harshvardhan Patel.
These announcements come at a crucial time as excitement builds for Gudgudi, which stars Ahsaas Channa, and is set to premiere at Cannes.
Manisha Makwana expressed her joy at unveiling their future plans at such a prestigious venue, stating, “Announcing our next stories at Cannes is incredibly special for us. The positive response to Gudgudi has been very encouraging, and I’m grateful to Harsh for always supporting stories that are rooted and honest. Trust between creative partners makes all the difference.”
Producer Harshvardhan Patel also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “Cannes has been an unforgettable experience. The interest in Gudgudi and the stories we aim to tell are truly inspiring. With these two feature films, we hope to broaden the type of cinema White Peacock Films represents—stories that are impactful and emotionally resonant.”
With Gudgudi making its mark on the international festival scene, the new projects indicate White Peacock Films’ commitment to diverse storytelling across different genres.
