India Calls for UN Reform to Better Reflect Today’s World

NEW DELHI, May 15 – India’s Foreign Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, emphasized the need for reform within the United Nations during a speech on Friday. He pointed out that many key structures, especially the Security Council, still represent an outdated perspective.

Jaishankar highlighted the importance of including voices from Asia, Africa, and Latin America in UN decision-making processes. His comments were made at the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting held in New Delhi, underscoring a growing call for a more inclusive international system.
