Sanjay Dutt’s film Aakhri Sawal, which was set to hit theaters on May 8, is now facing a delay. The movie has encountered issues with censor certification, preventing it from being released as planned. Reports indicate that the film’s trailer has not yet received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) either.
Sources reveal that the film’s content has prompted the CBFC to tread carefully. The filmmakers have argued that the movie is based on historical events, emphasizing its importance for public viewing. However, discussions about the film’s certification have taken longer than expected. As a result, the producers have decided to postpone the release and are now eyeing May 15 as a new date, contingent upon receiving the required approval in time.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang, known for his work on Picasso, Aakhri Sawal boasts a diverse cast. Alongside Sanjay Dutt, it features Namashi Chakraborty, Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy, Neetu Chandra, Tridha Choudhury, Mrinal Kulkarni, Nikhil Nanda, Archana Iyer, and Bipin Nadkarni.
The film is being produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt under their respective banners, with the screenplay crafted by Utkarsh Naithani. Music for the film is provided by Monty Sharma, with lyrics penned by Kumar Vishwas.
Interestingly, Aakhri Sawal was originally scheduled to premiere on May 15 before it was moved up to May 8 just last month. Fans are eager for updates and hope for a timely resolution regarding the film’s release.
