UBS Withholds Documents in Credit Suisse Investigation

UBS Group has decided to hold back over 22,000 pages of documents related to an investigation into Credit Suisse’s management of accounts linked to the Nazi era. The bank claims these documents are protected by legal privilege, as shared in a letter to a US Senate committee from the lawyer managing the inquiry.

Additionally, UBS has narrowed the investigation’s focus and is currently reviewing another 388,000 pages to determine which parts can be blacked out, according to ombudsman Neil Barofsky. His correspondence was sent to the US Senate Judiciary Committee, which is overseeing the investigation, and has been made available on their website.
