Sonali Kulkarni Stuck in Mumbai Traffic for Five Hours
Actress Sonali Kulkarni recently shared a troubling experience on Instagram after getting trapped in the heavy traffic that Mumbai is known for. While attempting to travel from Mumbai to Pune, she found herself stuck on the Mankhurd bridge for a staggering five hours, along with many other drivers, without any clear indication of when they might get moving again.
In a video she posted, Sonali expressed her frustration: “Hi, I am here on Mankhurd bridge. It’s been exactly 5 hours that we are stuck here.” She indicated the chaos around her, stating, “You can see the traffic behind and ahead of me. We called the traffic control team, and they told us to be patient. The jam is really bad, and they can’t tell us when it will clear up.”
Feeling helpless, she pleaded for assistance: “Please pray for us. If anyone can help from the other side or give us an update, it would be appreciated.”
Sonali noted the discomfort of being stationary for so long, saying, “We’re hungry and unable to move. I know others have faced worse situations, but this is scary. Five hours in one place is tough.”
Her post caught the attention of many on social media, stirring conversations about the ongoing traffic issues in Mumbai. Filmmaker Aditya Kripalani replied, emphasizing the larger problem, “This is exactly what the city faces. People are dealing with severe infrastructure problems while some focus on her speaking in English rather than Marathi. One day, someone might call for help in distress, and we’ll worry about the language they’re using.”
Mumbai has been struggling with heavy traffic for years, and Sonali’s experience has once again highlighted the urgent need for improved traffic management and infrastructure in this bustling city.
