Carwow Group Welcomes New Chief Technology Officer

Carwow Group has announced the appointment of Hizam Sahibudeen as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This move aims to enhance the company’s dealer-led services and innovate through advanced AI technology.

Sahibudeen will be responsible for shaping Carwow’s technology strategy and will oversee its engineering, IT, and security teams from the company’s headquarters in London. He will report directly to CEO John Veichmanis, taking over from David Santoro, a co-founder of Carwow Group, who will continue to play a key role as a principal engineer in the team.

Focus on Dealer Tools

With over 20 years of experience in creating secure and scalable systems, Sahibudeen has an impressive background in technology. Originally from Malaysia, he has spent significant time in Silicon Valley, taking on senior engineering positions at companies like ShipMonk and GotPhoto.

Earlier in his career, he was part of Iflix from its inception, helping it grow to 50 million users across 27 countries. Later, he led technology strategies at Newstore, providing omnichannel solutions for well-known brands like Lego and Fossil.

Expansion of Executive Team

In addition to Sahibudeen’s appointment, Carwow Group has also confirmed that Rinesh Sheth, who has been serving as the group’s general counsel since 2024, is now part of the executive team. Sheth has been instrumental in building Carwow’s legal framework and has played a key role in various commercial achievements.

He boasts over 20 years of international legal expertise, having spent more than 11 years at Informa, a major global events and publishing company. There, Sheth took on several leadership roles, including serving as general counsel for mergers and acquisitions during a period of significant growth for the company.

John Veichmanis expressed confidence in Sahibudeen’s capabilities, stating, “Hizam is a proven advocate of AI engineering practices and data-driven decisions. His experience and vision will help us enhance our platform as we continue to grow.”

Veichmanis also highlighted the importance of having legal and compliance insight at the executive level, noting, “Rinesh brings deep legal knowledge alongside excellent commercial judgment, which will be crucial for navigating future opportunities.”
