Mohamed Salah’s Injury Raises Doubts About His Liverpool Future, Says Arne Slot

Liverpool Manager Comments on Mohamed Salah’s Injury

Liverpool manager Arne Slot shared his thoughts on Mohamed Salah’s injury after the player’s departure during a recent victory over Crystal Palace. Salah left the field limping in the 59th minute due to a left hamstring injury.

With Salah previously announcing he plans to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, concerns are growing about his fitness for the final match against Brentford on May 24. After the game, Slot indicated that the club would monitor Salah’s condition closely before making further decisions.

“It’s too soon to tell, but we all know how much Mo hates leaving the pitch,” Slot told Match of the Day. He noted that if Salah needed to leave the field, it suggested the injury might be serious. Although he walked off gradually, he took a moment to wave goodbye to the fans at Anfield.

Slot also reflected on the possibility that this might have been Salah’s last appearance for the club. “Honestly, I think it crossed his mind when he came off the field. With just a few weeks left, we’re hopeful to see him play again,” Slot explained, adding that they would wait for further tests to determine the severity of the injury.

Salah’s Future in Question

Egypt’s national team director, Ibrahim Hassan, expressed his belief that Salah may have played his last game for Liverpool, citing a potential hamstring tear. “He will need about four weeks of treatment,” Hassan noted, but he remains optimistic that Salah could still be fit for the 2026 World Cup.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has achieved tremendous success, securing two Premier League titles, the Champions League, and several other major trophies. With 257 goals in 435 matches for the club, he ranks third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list, behind legends Ian Rush and Roger Hunt. As the uncertainty looms, fans are left wondering if they have seen the last of Salah in a Liverpool jersey.
