Birla Studios, in partnership with Vodafone Idea Limited, has revealed an exciting new project called “Reel Se Real Star.” This innovative platform is tailored for mobile users and aims to transform how aspiring actors connect with the Indian entertainment industry. The goal is clear: to break down barriers related to location and industry connections, allowing anyone with a smartphone the chance to shine in the world of cinema.
Ananya Birla, Founder and Chairperson of Birla Studios, shared her thoughts on this initiative. She emphasized that many talented individuals often miss out on opportunities simply due to lack of access. With the digital landscape evolving, combined with Birla Studios’ creative vision and Vodafone Idea’s nationwide reach, this platform aims to make talent accessible to all. “Reel Se Real Star” is designed to ensure that anyone, regardless of their background, can be discovered, as every talent deserves recognition.
By utilizing Vodafone Idea’s extensive digital network, the platform seeks to create a vibrant and diverse pool of acting talent in India. This initiative will connect hidden gems from various corners of the country to mainstream entertainment.
Abhijit Kishore, CEO of Vodafone Idea, added that the essence of true connectivity lies in creating opportunities. “Reel Se Real Star” reimagines traditional audition processes by putting them directly in the hands of aspiring actors across the nation. With over 200 million users benefiting from Vodafone Idea’s robust network, the platform aims to ensure that talent isn’t just confined to big cities but can be found in every nook and cranny, including remote villages.
This nationwide program allows aspiring actors to showcase their skills through an entirely digital process, accessible via an app and website. Participants can directly upload their auditions, eliminating the need for industry insiders’ referrals. The platform will feature guidance from experienced directors and influential creative voices, ensuring that participants receive valuable mentorship and evaluation. The winners will earn a significant opportunity: a role in a feature film alongside a well-known director.
The platform will be available for participation on the Vi app in the upcoming months, with users currently able to express their interest on Birla Studios’ or Vi’s websites.
