Justin Langer Optimistic About Rishabh Pant’s Performance in IPL 2026

Lucknow Super Giants’ head coach, Justin Langer, is looking forward to seeing Rishabh Pant shine in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. With the season approaching, Langer mentioned that Pant has been training hard and seems ready to showcase his skills.

Last year was challenging for Pant, the most expensive player in the tournament’s history. He scored just 269 runs throughout the 2025 season, though he did impress with a century in his final match.

“Rishabh Pant will be ready to go. He is currently training, and we have a camp underway. He’s performing well. Champions never stay down for too long. His last game in the IPL 2025 reminded us of his greatness. We expect great things from him this year,” Langer stated during a press conference at the LSG training camp.

Pant is getting ready for the IPL while the T20 World Cup 2026 is taking place, a tournament he wasn’t selected for. In an effort to enhance his T20 game, he’s been training with cricket legend Yuvraj Singh at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai.

The Lucknow Super Giants had a tough time last season, finishing 7th despite strong performances from their openers. This year, they are hopeful for a turnaround under Pant’s leadership. Langer and the team are aiming for solid teamwork and a season free from injuries.

Lucknow will kick off their season on April 1, going head-to-head with Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Stadium.
