U.S. Forces Carry Out Major Strike on Iranian Targets

On Saturday, U.S. military forces executed a broad strike against Iranian targets, showcasing significant air, sea, and missile strength. The operation, known as “Operation Epic Fury,” commenced at 1:15 a.m. and quickly hit over 1,000 sites across Iran in its first day, as reported by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). Notably, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several top regime officials were reportedly killed in the attacks.

The assault featured advanced aircraft, including B-2 stealth bombers, F-22 and F-16 fighter jets, and A-10 attack planes. CENTCOM also noted the involvement of EA-18G electronic warfare planes and various reconnaissance tools.

Missile defense systems like Patriot interceptors and THAAD anti-ballistic missiles were deployed in response to potential threats. Additional military resources included high-tech drones, reconnaissance aircraft, HIMARS rocket systems, and nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

CENTCOM highlighted that one-way attack drones, called LUCAS, were used for the first time in combat, designed similarly to Iranian drones. These cost-effective drones were developed by SpektreWorks and can be launched from various platforms.

Key Iranian Military Sites Targeted

The targeted sites in Iran included command centers, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ headquarters, missile sites, and naval assets, among others. In retaliation, Iran launched missiles against U.S. bases located in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

The initial reports indicate that three U.S. service members lost their lives and five were seriously injured during Operation Epic Fury. The joint military operation is expected to continue for several more days, with CENTCOM remaining tight-lipped about further comments or details.

This operation marks a significant escalation in military tensions in the Middle East, with far-reaching implications for both U.S. and Iranian forces.
